This idea is inspired by the Pingxi Sky Lantern Festival in Taiwan, where a large number of tourists gather each year to participate. Annually, between 300,000 to 1 million sky lanterns are released, causing environmental pollution and posing fire hazards. Therefore, we aim to recreate this experience using AR technology to reduce the environmental impact and safety risks associated with releasing physical sky lanterns.

Our AR skyLantern is an innovative project that enables you to release your wishes and dreams through heartfelt messages or creative drawings. Using the advanced capabilities of 8th-Wall WebAR combined with geospatial information, SkyLantern captures and records the unique trajectory of your virtual sky lantern. This means that your wishes are not just fleeting moments; they are preserved and can be shared with others.

Your sky lantern can be viewed in the exact location where you released it, creating a communal experience where everyone can come together to witness and celebrate each other's dreams.
